Denmans at Fontwell (12 miles)

There is something about the garden at Denmans which is quite unlike any other in Britain, for its display is not only to do with flower colour, but foliage form, textures and, of course, as it moves to autumn, with foliage colour as well. Although the garden is only four acres in size, its layout is such that the visitor enjoys many small areas within the overall, for it is punctuated with pieces of statuary, a well designed pot or a warm sitting corner. In fact, it is a garden full of ideas to take home, and which can then be interpreted within smaller garden spaces.

Uppark House near South Harting  (12 miles)

‘Up Park’ – the site explains the old spelling – is parkland set high on the West Sussex Downs looking south over a broad valley to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

Arundel Arboretum (15 miles)

Arundel Arboretum has been established nearly 40 years, and has over that time developed the widest variety and quality stock of trees, large container shrubs, conifers and cedars. Most of their customers now come from recommendation. They believe the reason for this is not just the range and quality of their stock, but also the knowledge and advice they can give you. They not only give advice on which plants will best suit your requirements, but also how best to maintain the plants once they have been planted. Once their expert staff have helped you find the right tree or plant to suit your garden you can plant it yourself or they can arrange delivery and / or planting for you if required.
