West Sussex is a beautiful place in the build up to Christmas; the shops are already filling with festive goods and several places in the local area hold Christmas Markets or events:

– Arundel will be lit by candlelight and offering mulled wine, hog roast and market stalls on 6th December.

– Chichester Christmas Market runs between the 7th and 15th December.

– Fontwell Park Racecourse have a South East Christmas Fair, with over 130 boutique style Gift Stands, food and drink and lots of children’s entertainment, on the 13th December (booking is advised).

– West Dean College hold a Winter Wonderland on the 13th and 14th December; including food, drink, stalls and entertainment.

Bosham Walk (0.1 miles)

A few hundred metres from the hotel is Bosham Walk, which is an Arts and Crafts Centre full of small shops and is great fun to potter in. Chichester City Centre (4 miles)

From boutiques to high street brand names (Marks & Spencer, Boots, River Island, Next, Top Shop, Jigsaw, Wallace, Warehouse etc) department stores (House of Fraser’s Army & Navy and BHS) to small unique shops there are plenty of places to have retail therapy. The city is laid in an X shape, with North, South, East sand West Street, so you can not get lost – simply shop the cross X streets. Emsworth (5 miles)

Emsworth is a delightful harbour side town with a wide range of independent shops and is a perfect place to potter about looking for something different. The town’s centre still maintains much of the charm of its original character and architecture, with its busy square and shops. With its millponds and promenade it is a popular place for visitors, who can walk around the Harbour.
